MANDURAH Pirates A grade cruised to a 43-10 win against Arks in Kelmscott, getting its season back on track after last weekend’s opening round loss.
The Pirates put Arks to the sword in the second half after the teams went in level at the change.
Doubles from Kotahi Erueti and Anton Paul as well as singles to Isaiah Attkins and Matthew Korok led the way in a monster second half.
B grade maintained its unbeaten record, scoring a bruising 17-5 win but the colts fell heartbreakingly short, going down to Wests Scarborough 22-20.
Despite late pressure from the Pirates, Scarborough maintained its composure and repelled numerous attacks in the dying minutes.
Jack Knobben, Carl Fitzpatrick and Nemaiah Yumange all crossed for the colts but it was not enough to stop them from slumping to its first loss of the year.
This weekend all three teams play at home with the Colts taking on UWA at 12.20pm, the B grade facing off against Bunbury at 1.50pm, and the A grade clashing with Bunbury at 2.45pm.
