National badminton competition hits Mandurah

BADMINTON has taken over the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC) for the 2019 Australian U19 Badminton Championships.

Players from all corners of Australia have converged on MARC for the seven day event, the first time it has ever been held in Mandurah.

The tournament started on July 7 with the team competition, the CP Maddern Trophy, which culminated on Tuesday with New South Wales declared the victors.

Victoria came in second with WA third.

The tournament will continue from Wednesday to Saturday with the individual competition.

Members of the public are welcome to spectate.
