Nero Bolt will need luck in Sprint final: Greyhound racing

Vanessa SchmittMandurah Coastal Times

Winless in four previous starts since he claimed the WA Sprint Championship back in early August, Nero Bolt found something close to his best with a barnstorming finish along the rail.

Nero Bolt was beaten out by Mike The Knight and trailed that greyhound for the majority of the race, but he was able to power over the top in the final few strides to snatch victory by a head in 27.46sec.

Nero Bolt’s task in the final won’t be any easier as he’ll jump from ‘the lemon’, box five.

Nambeelup trainer Paul Stuart has four greyhounds in the final after Tiggerlong Await, Romeo’s Comet and Astrophysic won heats and Tureaud scraped into the trophy decider as a lucky loser.

The strong-running Romeo’s Comet was the quickest after he posted a time of 27.51sec during his heat.

Astrophysic launched sweetly from box six to lead all the way in his heat and he won’t be troubled by a wide draw in the final.

Tureaud has a huge opportunity to claim the silverware from the prized rail alley.
