ANZ Netball Nation has announced advancements of its grants program to celebrate the start of the 2016 ANZ Championship Season.

The new scheme opened online on April 1 offers netballers the opportunity to win up to AU$100,000 worth of grants.

This initiative aims to provide Rockingham and Kwinana clubs with much needed materials such as uniforms, equipment, clubhouse repairs and invaluable clinics with some of the game’s finest role models.

Last year saw the biggest grants submission rates since the program launched in 2011.

This has lead to the introduction of four $20,000 ‘Dream Big’ grants.

Different to the previous years, these grants allow individuals and clubs to custom-spend this value to suit theirs and the club’s needs.

This could include new netball courts, new clubrooms, mini bus hire for tournaments, travel for netball tournaments and more.

These advancements are in response to the program receiving almost double the grant entries year on year from 2014 and 2015 (82% increase).

The programs success has established the need to evolve the grant offering to the growing and highly engaged netball community in Rockingham, Kwinana and across the country.

As per previous years, equipment grants and clinic grants with ANZ’s Netball Nation ambassadors will also be on offer.

Adding to the excitement of the 2016 program is the introduction of sharpshooter Caitlin Bassett as the new ANZ Netball Nation ambassador.

Bassett joins the already impressive line-up that includes Captain of the Australian Netball Diamonds Laura Geitz and coach of the Australian Netball Diamonds Lisa Alexander.

The dynamic trio will all run clinics as part of the program.

Bassett remembers clearly all the people and organisations involved in supporting her through the ranks.

“Increased access to grants and equipment via the ANZ Netball Nation program is so imperative to the growth and support of our sport.”

“I’m really looking forward to running clinics and working with upcoming stars,” she says.

In addition to the grants, ANZ Netball Nation supports netballers throughout Australia with online fitness guides, coaching tips, training videos and more.
