PEEL Thunder Women’s league team head coach Adam Dancy is excited about the team’s prospects this season.
Despite losing to East Fremantle by 37 points in the inaugural WA Women’s Football League game, Dancy said his young side had the ability to improve.
He was proud of the girls’ performance against last year’s reigning premiers.

READ NOW“We debuted 13 players who are extremely young; one of the girls is only 15. We have a great talent pool and we will be working to develop that,” he said.
Dancy said his team was energetic and had a youthful exuberance.
“They are fearless. By that I mean they do not fear failure and they don’t fear a challenge,” he said.
Dancy said the women’s league team played on their terms and were clean and fast.
“As is often seen in developing sides, our ability to maintain focus and our intensity waned, allowing the Sharks to get a jump on us early in the third quarter,” he said.
“We fell over but we had discipline and kept working.”
Dancy said the team would be working on skill development.
“We’ll be focusing on decision making, empowering the girls to make decisions,” he said.
Dancy said the players to watch this season included home-grown talent Tayla Bresland, Sabreena Duffy, Kate Bartlett and Katie Jayne Greive. He said younger players with potential included Sarah Verrier, Courtney Rowley, Nell Baxter, Abi Thayer and Jacklyn Atkinson.
