PEEL Thunder Football Club will field two women’s teams in the coming season.

The women’s teams will align with the men’s teams.

Adam Dancy has been announced as the women’s head coach and Steve Markham will be the women’s Rogers Cup coach.

Peel Thunder is now organising the recruitment of talent.

Chief executive John Ditchburn said women’s football was the fastest growing sport in Australia.

“With 28 school-age teams in the Peel region, Peel Thunder offers the perfect pathway for women to pursue their football dreams,” he said.

“The club can now offer exciting opportunities for all football players.”

This year Dancy was the Fremantle AFLW academy coach, the Fremantle AFLW pro scout and Western Australian State Academy Female Programs head coach. In 2017 he was the State U18 Female team assistant senior coach and the East Fremantle Colts premiership assistance coach.

Markham was the Peel Thunderbirds Rogers Cup Premiership head coach and the Female State Academy development coach this year.
