The 19-year-old’s FIT team was beaten by the West Coast Fever in an exhibition match at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall, but the side won a game against a Singaporean team.
The FIT team was coached by WAIS head coach Michelle Wilkins and has been under the watchful eye of Netball WA high-performance manager and West Coast Fever assistant coach Stacey Rosman.
‘The FIT players selected to travel to Singapore represent players from the recently announced state 17U, 19U and 21U teams,’ Rosman said.
‘They are preparing for their respective national championships and training and playing against West Coast Fever here and in Singapore provided them with invaluable experience in their nationals build-up.’
Penny will play in the 21U side at the national championships in Adelaide in March and hopes to be picked for the national team.
