Skipper skips away first up

After some encouraging results racing at Cannington, trainer Eric Campana brought the handy greyhound down for his first look at the Peel circuit.

Campana’s travel was rewarded with a victory.

Happy Skipper began well from box 6 to land on the tail of the leader Layout in the early stages.

At the halfway point, Happy Skipper surged to the front and never looked back.

He powered away to win comfortably in a slick 27.53.

In other racing, Egotistical remained undefeated in WA.

The speedy black chaser got up to score in the Bring Your Team Bridge Stake (405m).

A former Victorian, Egotistical has now won three from three since joining Tim Mullany’s Karnup kennels last month.

Another racedog exploiting a rich vein of form is the exciting Special Pup. The Bill Skipper-trained youngster recorded his fifth win from his past six attempts when he claimed the Get A Group Going Peel Stake (405m).
