The Bill Skipper-trained racedog continued his love affair with the short course distance, to remain undefeated over the 400m with a customary front running effort. Beaten out at box rise by his kennelmate Special Maestro, Special Pup was able to muster quickly and soon he pressed forward into the lead.
Once clear of the pack, Special Pup was able to avoid the interference behind him and he shot away into an unassailable position.
Veteran chaser Uno Reltub gave dogged pursuit but he was not able to gain ground on the leader as Special Pup rolled on to score by three lengths in 22.55 in another impressive showing.
