The Bill Skipper-trained speedster had a sequence of five wins broken when he finished fourth behind De Wade the previous week but turned the tables on that chaser with a front running effort.
Special Pup bounced straight to the front from box four and gave his rivals no chance as he scorched over the Peel circuit in a personal best time of 27.32.
Even the mighty De Wade, which had claimed six of his previous seven races at FTA level, could not catch Special Pup and he finished more than three lengths behind the winner.
Special Pup has now saluted in 11 of 19 career starts and collected $20,500 in stakes.
