Phillips was one of 12 WA women selected to play in the first AFL-sanctioned women’s draft.

She was the number 32 in the women’s national draft.

Phillips played for the Western Bulldogs against fellow Peel Thunderbird Emma Swanson, who played for Melbourne.

She kicked two goals in her women’s AFL debut and was one of only two Western Bulldogs players to score in the match.

Phillips was one of seven Peel Thunderbirds players selected to represent WA at the under 18s national carnival in Shepparton, Victoria in May.

She took on the role of vice-captain for this match.

Throughout the season, Phillips has been a consistent goal-scorer for the Thunderbirds.
