Thunderbirds are go as youth girls remain unstoppable

The team have made it into the grand final in their inaugural year and finished the season top of the ladder.

The talented team made it through the home and away season undefeated, but lost to South Fremantle in the second semi-final.

With six players away representing the state girls 16s, their depth was challenged, but they passed with flying colours to record a 52-point victory over Swan Districts.

Demi Okely from John Tonkin College was one of eight WA players selected for All Australian following the match.

To continue the celebration, the WA state 16 girls defeated Victoria on Saturday night by five points in the State School Girl’s competition grand final.

Five Peel Thunderbirds players return home for this Sunday’s big game.

In the most recent meeting between the two sides, South Fremantle beat the previously undefeated Peel by 27 points.

The WAFC Youth Girls grand final will be held at Lathlain Park, which is the home of Perth Football Club, this Sunday, August 25, starting at 10am.
