Alessandro La Verghetta also turned heads during the final, being awarded most valuable player.

A strong performance from goalkeeper Christopher Barty ensured he took home the goalkeeper of the tournament award.

The rest of the team, including Brad Scott, Setha Chhum, Chris Minutillo, Samuel McConnachy, Rodrigues Niyongere, Pat Amato and Connor Bunce, also took home bronze medals.

Football West head of development Jamie Harnwell said the success of the WA team at the tournament once again proved the talent WA had to offer.

“Having these players not only represent our state but also bring home several awards is an inspiration to our younger potential paralympic players following similar pathways” he said,

“It’s reflective of the hard work put in the by the team and the support staff over the past few months in the lead-up to the tournament and the players should be proud of their performance.”
