FORMER Essendon midfielder Ben Howlett is coming home to Peel Thunder.

A Peel Thunder product, Howlett played 124 AFL games and kicked 58 goals after joining the Bombers in 2010.

The 29-year-old was delisted from Essendon in October after playing only seven AFL matches this year.

Thunder coach Cameron Shepherd said Howlett had a wonderful career with Essendon.

“He is driven and will help Peel succeed,” he said.

“He has immense talent and has plenty to offer.”

Shepherd said Howlett was a welcome addition to the team after the retirement of Rory O’Brien last season.

“Howlett will definitely help in that area,” he said.

Howlett has a reputation for working hard and has a demonstrated ability to kick goals.

Originally from Donnybrook, Howlett is currently driving back to WA.
