THE Castelli Group are hoping to draw more people into the Myaree area after opening a cellar door this month.

After moving to the former Community News building on the corner of North Lake Road and McCoy Street during January, the company is now running free wine tasting on Saturdays and during the week by booking.

The company is involved in wine-making, property management, power generation and more.

Castelli Estate Wines brand manager James Majer said after previously having its warehouse and office in separate locations, the opportunity came to bring everything together.

“We previously had our warehouse and office in separate locations but we had the opportunity to have it on the same site.

“The wine tasting came after the idea of creating a purpose-built cellar.

“Our winery is five hours away so we don’t necessarily get the same tourism as Margaret River so we wanted to create something with a point of difference.

“The free wine tasting is open to the public on Saturdays and we have tastings during the weekend for groups.

With Billabong Brewery a staple of the area and the Otherside Brewhouse recently open, the company is hoping to encourage people to come through.

“There are a lot of residential properties around here so I hope they check us out,” Mr Majer said.
