ATWELL Gallery is looking for a wave of submissions from the public as it prepares to celebrate the Swan River.

The gallery is hosting an exhibition titled Spirit of the Swan Festival from October 15 to November 3, which will be a celebration of the river front in the City of Melville.

Atwell Arts Centre and Gallery coordinator Chris Marshall said as part of the exhibition, they were looking for people to submit images.

“We want it to be an inclusive exhibition that appeals across cultures,” she said.

“We want the community to be involved through a slideshow of images.

“People have had family picnics by the river for years and they might have gone prawning back then, although you can’t do that now.

“We are also looking for people to provide an explanation of their image as well.”

People interested in submitting images are asked to send them in a jpg format at a maximum size of 1MB to twelart@iinet.net.au with ‘of the Swan Image for slideshow’ as the email header and include a couple of sentences about the image and how it fits the theme.

The images will be considered for the exhibition by the gallery’s curator.
