THE Leeming Area Community Bands are seeking new members.
Formed in 1996 as a group of gifted amateurs, they now enter band competitions and perform at large events, but the emphasis is still on having fun.
The group of more than 40 keen musicians has performed at events such as Australia Day events and Carols by Candlelight for the City of Melville.
They have just been awarded a $1000 grant to continue their work.

Members range in age from 18 to 86 and practice regularly at Leeming High School's Performing Arts Centre.
