The 22-year-old got the call from organisers last Wednesday, just hours before a photo shoot with Community Newspaper Group.

“It’s every fashion designers dream to get there,” Rolt said.

“It’s the underworld of New York fashion… to be part of that as a little known Australian label is just phenomenal.”

Rolt will create 10 new pieces for the upcoming runway show.

“I’ll focus on one piece at a time and perfect it from head to toe,” she said.

Rolt, who launched her after-five and eveningwear label four years ago, said she hoped the New York Fashion Week opportunity would help her expand overseas.

“I’m a summer designer more than winter so I could have a summer market all year round,” she said.

In the meantime, Rolt is preparing to host a Style Series at Atlas Pearls and Perfumes, Claremont on Thursday, February 18.

She will match her new designs with pearls from the Claremont showroom.

“Pearl strands and pendants are fabulous with my after five and eveningwear,” Rolt said.

“Plunging necklines are absolutely perfect at making your pearls and jewellery standout.

“Pearls are very feminine. I love the versatility of pearls; they can be both classic but edgy.”
