ELIZABETH MacColl is hoping to share her love of gardening when she opens her backyard up on August 25 and 26.
The Alfred Cove resident will help raise money for the Cancer Council as part of the Open Gardens West Coast event at 107b Kitchener Road.
There will be watercolour painting demonstrations as well as paintings and plants for sale, and a Cancer Council stand.

READ NOWMs MacColl said she spent lots of time in her garden and so she thought it was a good idea to open it to the public.
“I’m a member of the Cancer Council and I’ve been holding Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea events for about 15 years,” she said.
“The cost of the event is $6 per person with 50 per cent of that going to the Cancer Council, the other money goes to insurance.
“There will be demonstrations from watercolour artists Dana Shave and Sandy Robertson.”
Ms MacColl said she enjoyed gardening because it allowed her to see colours and created a nice, relaxing place to have a coffee.
“I’m hoping other people can get ideas for their own gardens, I’ve got a small block but you can still have some fun things,” she said.
