PEOPLE will take a step back in time when they visit Lily and the Angel on October 20.

The Alfred Cove coffee shop is among many local community groups, schools and businesses taking part in the Garage Sale Trail on October 20 and 21.

Owner Kelly Williamson said they would be open on the Saturday between 9am to 1pm, when people could buy vintage clothes and accessories.

“The idea to have vintage clothes came because I was previously an interior designer and stylist, so I used to get lot of clothes such as samples and seconds,” she said.

“Some of the clothes come from sales and markets, I’m always looking for something different that stands out.

“The clothes are classics, it’s in opposition to the fast fashion that we see in modern life.

“My business was named after my nana; back then they used to repair things and not throw them away.”

Mrs Williamson said the business took part in the Garage Sale Trail last year and noted quite a bit of interest.

“This is not about getting rid of rubbish, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure,” she said.

“It’s also about enjoying a coffee or a cake and picking up some blooms, there’s a nice vibe here.”

Lily and the Angel is located at Unit 7, 575 Canning Highway, Alfred Cove.
