Applecross: Opal Aged Care to undergo $23m redevelopment to add 61 beds

Bryce LuffMelville Gazette

AN aged care facility in Applecross will undergo a $23 million redevelopment, adding a further 61 beds.

Opal Aged Care’s proposal is to demolish a single storey facility on the southern end of its Carron Road property before combining the cleared parcel with newly acquired land from Canning Beach Road.

On that will be built a new three storey facility with bedrooms, communal areas, landscaping and ancillary facilities.

The existing three storey aged care building on the northern portion of the lot will remain.

Planning approval for partial demolition and redevelopment has been endorsed by the Metro Central Joint Development Assessment Panel.
