Applecross Rotary donates $10,000 to local community

APPLECROSS Rotary has donated more than $10,000 to a range of local community groups as a result of proceeds raised from its 2016 Jacaranda Festival.

The organisation last month hosted an Applecross Village event to thank local contributors and present certificates of appreciation.

Melville Mayor Russell Aubrey praised the success of the festival and congratulated Applecross Rotary for its efforts and commitment to delivering such a significant local event.

Some of the community groups that benefited from the money raised include Waylen Bay Sea Scouts, South Side Symphony Orchestra and Leeming Area Big Band, Capital Community Radio, Melville Cares as well as local schools.
