ARDROSS Primary School students Calvin Teo and Aisha Burns were recently presented with Scitech Science Awards in a state-wide celebration of WA’s bright young minds.

The annual Scitech Science Awards recognise two graduating Year 6 students from each participating school who show excellence and passion in science lessons throughout the year.

Nearly 800 primary schools across WA registered for the awards this year. Each of the winning students received a special prize pack at their graduation assembly.

Scitech Science Awards coordinator Megan O’Sullivan said more teachers were actively tackling problems associated with disengagement.

“We hope that through this award students will be encouraged to continue developing their science investigation skills in high school and beyond,” she said.
