FREMANTLE author and artist Wendy Binks has donated nearly 90 individual artworks to the neonatal and paediatric unit of Fiona Stanley Hospital.

The artwork was installed with a computerised machine that spray-painted the images directly on to the walls of the wards, mostly in patient rooms.

Some of the designs were custom-made specifically for the hospital by Binks and incorporate recognisable items on the ward such as medical equipment and children’s pyjamas.

While brightening the children’s ward, the artwork will also act a useful distraction for unwell kids requiring procedures such as blood tests.

The project was part funded by the Bull Creek Lions, which donated the money required for installation.
