Bicton resident surprised by award nomination

Ms Krolik, who works at Braemar Presbyterian Care in Willagee, has been named as a finalist in the 2013 Aged and Community Services of WA (ACSWA) Excellence in Care Awards.

‘I was surprised but really happy to hear I’m a finalist and to know that my work contributes to improving the quality of life of Braemar residents,’ she said.

Ms Krolik said that interacting with residents was by far her favourite aspect of the job.

‘Forming relationships and sharing personal stories with all the residents is just so rewarding and enjoyable,’ she says.

‘They have a wonderful sense of humour and can always manage to make me smile which makes the job so worthwhile.’

The ACSWA awards recognise not-for-profit aged care providers and individuals working in aged and community care in WA.

Winners will be announced on Friday, June 7.
