BOORAGOON Primary School will cap its 50th anniversary celebrations with a cocktail evening at Tompkins on Swan on October 21.

The school community, past students, staff and families are among those invited.

The event will be the finale to celebrations held throughout the year to mark the milestone.

2010 graduate Blake Rose, a singer-songwriter, will perform on the night.

The Clements Road school opened in 1967 with five teachers and about 140 students.

Alumni include footballers Cale Hooker, Jamie McNamara and Jonathan Griffin, actress and model Alice Rooney, and Black Balloon co-writer Jimmy Jack.

Ticketing for the event closes October 16 at 3pm. There will be no door sales.
