WITH spring in the air, Garden City is welcoming the new season with an eye-catching botanical art installation.

A series of art and fashion-focused events will take place during the Spring but it is the 5m-tall installation, made up of hundreds of living and dried blooms, that will turn heads.

It has been created in the Fashion Mall as part of a collaboration with the Art Gallery of WA and is inspired by Eva Fernandez’s Anigozanthos flavidus 2011 which is now showing as part of The Botanical: Beauty and Peril exhibition at the gallery.

It was installed on Saturday and will remain there for three weeks, giving shoppers the opportunity to take a photo, share it to Instagram and win a prize pack.

Garden City senior marketing manager Clare Riley said the launch of spring summer fashion was an exciting time in retail and they were excited to bring something unique to the centre.
