A CO-WORKING initiative allowing freelancing parents to work in the same building as their child’s daycare has opened Murdoch.

Space for four parents to work has been created by BubDesk inside the Susan Teather Early Learning and Development Centre, which is on the Fiona Stanley Hospital site.

BubDesk began in Wembley in March and has gained the interest of students and companies such as ANZ, GE, KPMG and Synergy, who are trialling BubDesk as their staff return from maternity leave.

BubDesk founder Meg Burrage opened the southern suburbs site two weeks ago.

She returned to work for Woodside in logistics 18 months ago but had a young toddler she did not want to leave and did not find it productive to work from home.

“It can also be pretty isolating to work from home,” she said.
