RETIREES at the Royal Australia Air Force Association Air Force Memorial Estate in Bull Creek had a blooming good time during a flower arrangement workshop this week.

The workshop was run by IGA Bull Creek florist and Applecross resident Brooke Crawford yesterday.

Miss Crawford said the idea behind the workshop was to bridge intergenerational gaps.

“I spoke about how I got into floristry and I spoke about box arrangements, which are the easiest to do,” she said.

“I talked about some of the basic techniques and then I let them use their own creativity.”

Miss Crawford said she received positive comments from the retirees.

“We had about 15 people involved, including some of the carers,” she said.

“The feedback was positive and I’d love to do it again.”
