Caught out by Link letters

Fremantle MLA Simone McGurk said 77 residents who live south of Leach Highway, as well as some Willagee homeowners on the eastern side of Stock Road, received letters last week saying their homes may need to be destroyed to make way for the Perth Freight Link.

The plan, which is to be jointly funded by the State and Federal Governments, is for a major road to go through the area to feed trucks coming from Roe Highway down to Fremantle Port.

The properties affected include 45 homes. Thirty-two commercial properties have also been notified. Ms McGurk said residents were dealing with uncertainty and confusion.
