CITY of Melville’s Healthy Melville program is a finalist for a Sport and Recreation Industry Award.

The program is one of three finalists for the Innovation in Practice Award, up against the City of Armadale’s U Fit – Park Edition and Surfing WA.

Winners will be announced at a breakfast on July 26.

Award finalists across nine categories are also vying for the overall Minister’s Award for Industry Excellence with prize money of $10,000.

The Healthy Melville program includes its Roadstars, a mobile team that can be booked and also visit all major events in the community to share how residents can keep healthy physically and mentally.

Park exercise activities are also organised by the city and its website encourages healthy living across six areas, including eating healthy, being active every day, keeping mentally healthy, limiting alcohol, quitting smoking and ‘finding your happy’.
