Ms Lothian, who works for Serco as communications manager at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH), cut her long hair last month to raise money for the hospitals cancer centre.
She said the centre provided support, care and treatment at one of the most difficult times in the lives of patients and their families, with many peoples lives touched by the the team working across cancer services at FSH.
For Ms Lothian, it was a very personal fundraising mission, having spent a significant amount of time in the cancer ward at Fremantle Hospital with her husband in 2010.
The cancer team at Fremantle Hospital were extraordinary, particularly the nursing team, and many of the same team now work at Fiona Stanley Hospital and continue to do an outstanding job, she said.
Money raised will go towards buying items to make patients time in the hospital more comfortable, including a massage chair, personal DVD players and magazine subscriptions.
Four staff had their hair cut or shaved, raising about $2000 for FSH Cancer Centre. Ms Lothian also donated her hair for use in wig-making. Donations are still welcome at www.gofundme.com/fshgreatest-chop.
