PATIENTS at Fiona Stanley Hospital’s State Rehabilitation Service were given a surprise today when a group of Hockeyroos players turned up to their barbecue.
Hockeyroos goalkeeper and nurse Rachael Lynch organised seven of her teammates to attend the Australia Day celebration and meet with staff and patients.
“We often have events here and I thought it would be a unique experience for the patients,” she said.
“It’s also a good experience for the girls, they get a different perspective plus a few of them are studying in the health industry.

Patient David McGuire, who experienced a stroke about 16 weeks ago, said it was fantastic to meet hockey players who had represented Australia.
