The culmination of the Knit In for Anglicare, ladies work throughout the year and by the end of the day had completed 580 beanies, 133 scarves, 108 children’s beanies, various socks, mittens and children’s jumpers as well as a mountain of squares to be made into blankets.

The items will be donated to Anglicare, The Salvation Army, Charity Link, the Roman Catholic Church through Shop Front and St Albans.

The Knit In was co-ordinated by Linda Trefry and Robyn Ricket from All Saints Anglican Church in Bull Creek-Leeming.

“We were absolutely overwhelmed by the response we had this year, it went far beyond what we were expecting,” Mrs Trefry said.

“Last year we had 58 ladies and this year we were expecting around 75 but well over 100 turned up.
