Lazarus won’t rise

David Burtons Lazarus Wont Get Out of Bed is about 20-something year old Lazarus, who refuses to leave his bed or talk about his problems with his friend Panda.

Directed by Thomas Dimmick and starring Leeming actor Alex McVey, the audience will be taken on a journey as Lazarus friends try to get down to the problem.

Dimmick said the play would keep people thinking for days after they had seen it.

Lazarus is trying to deal with the problems in his life, which is presented to the audience in a way which engages, he said.

This play is a quality piece and I love tackling plays with a difference.

Lazarus is depressed but his journey goes into outer space, Mt Doom and back to his primary school classroom all without leaving his bed.

Lazarus Wont Get Out of Bed is on May 14-16 from 7.30pm at Murdoch Universitys Drama Workshop, 90 South Street, Murdoch.

Tickets start from $10.
