Leeming SHS raises money for Autism Association of WA

LEEMING Senior High School and its education support centre raised close to $1000 for the Autism Association of WA through a blue-themed free dress day last Thursday.

Blue is the official colour of World Autism Awareness Day, which is celebrated on April 2.

Leeming SHS and education support centre students, staff and volunteers placed a handprint on a blue wall in recognition of all people living with autism; more than 400 handprints in total.

Winthrop Primary School also acknowledged World Autism Awareness Day, with teachers wearing blue accessories and completing autism-themed activities in class on Friday.

Bunnings also donated one blue plant seedling for each Winthrop Primary student, which were planted to form a blue garden at the school.
