Born without a right ventricle, Lexi had a rare congenital heart defect and needed several operations. Her third operation was a Fontan Procedure in 2009.

The procedure was a big success, with Lexi now running around like every other eight-year-old girl.

‘She is doing great. She is in Year 3 and loving life. We just have to keep an eye on her and go for her check-ups, but nothing is stopping her riding her new bike,’ her mother Cath said.

Last month, Heartkids WA donated the purple bike ” which was built by local business people ” to Lexi.

‘Since she received it, Lexi has been riding it all the time.’
