Librarians praised by members

The two librarians, from AH Bracks library, have been recognised for their outstanding service to the community with a nomination in the competition, run by the Australian Library and Information Association.

Library users across Australia have nominated a librarian who has made a difference to their life, whether through storytelling for young children, mentoring or helping someone in the library.

Melville Mayor Russell Aubrey said the City was thrilled to have two librarians nominated.

He said it was a reflection of not only their dedication and wonderful service to the community, but also the team that supports them and the services the libraries are able to provide to members.

‘Our librarians are the frontline for promoting literacy and lifelong learning in the community,’ he said.

Voting for Australia’s Favourite Librarian closes on April 15.

The winner will be announced during Library and Information Week, from May 19 to 25.
