Man charged over crash that injured former Docker

A MAN has been charged over a crash in Bicton that left former Fremantle Docker Rhys Palmer fighting for his life in hospital.

Police allege the man was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan that collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of Canning Highway and Murray Road about 6.55pm on March 16.

Palmer suffered serious injuries and his 25-year-old female pillion passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash.

They were both taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer, a 45-year-old man from Spearwood, has been charged with careless driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and careless driving causing bodily harm.

He is due to appear before the Fremantle Magistrates Court on May 28.
