“Receiving the award at Government House in Perth from the Governor, in front of my parents, wife and kids, was very exciting and humbling.

“My success in that role was only due to great support from home and great support from work.

“I had the privilege of working with a great team and they really worked hard to make our unit successful.”

Mr Vojkovic decided to join the Air Force after considering his future options while in Year 12 at South Fremantle Senior High School.

He grew up in Spearwood and Coogee, playing soccer with Cockburn United and basketball at Wally Hagan stadium.
