Melville Book Week activities to bring stories to life

MELVILLE libraries will celebrate two weeks of children’s literature by combining The Reading Hour and Children’s Book Week into a fortnight fiesta of stories from August 15 to 26.

Master storyteller, entertainer and book week favourite Glenn Swift will host evening storytelling sessions to tie in with this year’s Children’s Book Week theme, Australia! Story Country.

Sessions will be held from 5.30 to 6.30pm on August 22 at Civic Square Library, August 23 at AH Bracks Library and August 25 at Bull Creek Library.

Library staff will entertain youngsters and their families, aged three and over, with The Reading Hour evening storytelling sessions at Bull Creek and Willagee Libraries from 6 to 7pm on August 16 and at AH Bracks Library on August 17.

Children visiting Bull Creek and AH Bracks are invited to wear their pyjamas for an assortment of stories, rhymes and activities, while Willagee attendees will be able to dress up as their favourite Australian children’s book character.
