Melville City Football Club
Melville turns its sights to this Saturday’s home clash with second-placed Joondalup City.
The two sides played out a see-sawing 4-4 draw earlier in the season and the hosts will be hoping to earn another good result.
Unfortunately, Melville will most likely be without its young trio of Logan McIsaac, Shane Boyle and Rion Robertson who are currently on duty with the WA Schoolboy’s squad.
Fifth on the ladder, Melville is one of four teams on 25 points and while a victory could move City into outright fourth, a loss could see it plummet all the way down to ninth.
Melville City Hockey Club
A draw will be good enough for the Melville City men to lock up a final spot when they take on Curtin Trinity Pirates at the Perth Hockey Stadium at on Saturday.
City was beaten 4-2 by Hale in round 20, ending a five-game winning streak.
Eleventh on the ladder, Curtin Trinity presents the perfect opportunity to bounce back quickly and carry some momentum into finals, which begin in two weeks time.
Melville City’s women beat Westside Wolves 4-2 to keep their finals hopes alive at the weekend and must now back up that performance against North Coast Raiders.
Raiders are one spot below Melville in seventh and the City women may look to target this fixture to erase some of the six-goal difference between themselves and fifth-placed WASPS, who face a difficult task against Curtin Trinity Pirates in the final round of the regular season.
