Melville Girl Guides put out the call for leaders

Jaime ShurmerMelville Gazette

Girl Guides WA State Commissioner Linda Elezovich said people interested did not need Girl Guides experience but should be motivated, like children, and hold a Working with Children Check.

“We want people who are good at working with girls to empower them to develop confidence and resilience and self-respect,” Ms Elezovich said.

“We provide all the training and new leaders will work with experienced leaders while learning the ropes.”

Units looking for leaders include Spearwood, Bateman, Bull Creek/Leeming, Willeton, Melville and Ardross.

Girls Guides WA is also trying to reopen the Burrendah unit in Willeton for girls aged 10-13 years. Units have girls of varying ages, so women who choose to lead can opt for their preferred age group.

To register interest, email info@girlguideswa.org.au or visit www.girlguides.org.au.

An information session will be held 7pm Thursday, February 9, at the Willeton Guide Hall on Donald Street.
