THE latest in kitchen trends will be discussed when Summit Homes Group launches the first of their new event series in Myaree.

The free event will take place at The Style Studio on August 28 and will be hosted by Lisa Fernandez with food from Bib and Tucker and May Street Larder executive chef Scott Bridger.

Summit New Homes design manager Peter Wilkinson said one of the latest trends for kitchens was for shaker doors.

“We’ve had a lot of inquiries about them and the reaction has been good, especially with display homes,” he said.

“The trend for a scullery off the kitchen can’t be ignored, due to the many functional benefits it offers to today’s homebuyer.

“Designing kitchens with a scullery provides extra storage and creates a more open and less cluttered kitchen.

“When designing a kitchen renovation, we also consider the great Australian lifestyle and our love for the outdoors, which is why we like to ensure we seamlessly integrate the kitchen with the alfresco area, which is perfect for those who love to entertain.”

Mr Wilkinson said the event was an opportunity to see some of the designs on offer at The Style Studio.

Mr Bridger said the range of canapes on offer would be food that home cooks could make.

“It’s important to make it accessible for home cooks, who are interested in gourmet food,” he said.

“I think home cooks need to try and learn different things and then take inspiration from that.”
