Two six-metre-tall figures have been rising slowly from the earth since last Thursday, and tomorrow they will finish their journey on the Raffles’ rooftop as the guests of honour at an unusual party.
As well as fireworks and celebrations, the beer garden will be turned into a Japanese lantern to mark an announcement about changes to the facade of the iconic hotel.
Creating the ninjas was no mean feat; it took 1856 light bulbs, 58 milk crates, 16sq m of plastic and 150 man hours to make the figures, that light up spectacularly from the inside.
