For one day, Walliston Primary School students covered themselves in glory as part of International Mud Day celebrations.

Teacher Pamela Woodward said students could not believe their luck when they found out they could get as muddy as they wanted on June 28.

‘Children came to school in gum boots and play clothes and were encouraged to get as dirty as possible,’ she said. ‘Mud Day is about celebrating outdoor play; it is vital to a child’s development.’
