PALMYRA has significantly bolstered its backline, securing the services of Western Force recruits Chance Peni and Curtis Rona for the 2017 Premier Grade season.

Rona returns to Perth following three seasons in the National Rugby League, including a breakout 2015 campaign for the Canterbury Bulldogs when he was the competition’s leading try scorer.

Standing 194cm tall and weighing in at 102kg, Rona is a try-scoring threat from anywhere on the field and his combination of speed and power mean he can play in either the centres or on the wing.

New Zealand-born Peni, also returning to Perth after a stint in rugby league, is just as versatile.

The 23-year-old played for the Junior Kiwis and a Test for the Cook Islands before signing a two-year deal with Wests Tigers that took him to the end of the 2016 season.

At 190cm tall and 97kg with speed to burn, Peni is another candidate for centre or wing.
