UPDATE: Mobile phone coverage is starting to return to Telstra customers after a nationwide shortage.
A tweet from Telstra said the company had “bypassed hardware that had been preventing some customers from accessing the 4G mobile network”.

The telco giant said on Twitter it was working on a solution to the problem that was affecting mobile services.
The outage is affecting both 3G and 4G mobile voice and data services, according to Telstra’s website.
The mobile outage follows a major outage in February that was cause by a fire at the Chatswood exchange in Sydney.
The Telstra outage map at aussieoutages.com shows large hotspots across Australia’s capital cities.
