Perth woman died in regional crash

AN elderly Perth woman has died in a fatal crash on a regional road, prompting a Major Crash investigation.

Major Crash Investigation Officers are investigating the crash which occurred on Brookton Highway, near the intersection with South Dale Road, in Jelcobine on September 16.

Police said a white Toyota Camry, travelling east, left the road and collided with a tree at about 11.40am.

WA Police said the driver, an 85-year-old woman from Bull Creek, died at the scene while her 89-year-old husband was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.

Major Crash Investigators are seeking witnesses who may have seen the Toyota prior to the crash, or have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash.
