The dentist of 15 years has recently opened a dental surgery in Applecross, but it is not like any other; he is replacing drills with thrills.

Dr Stokic said Cherry Gum was an out of the box kind of dental centre breaking the mould to make a dental visit fun for children.

‘I’m a sensitive person who cannot help but take on the anxiety of the patients, so I want to turn their visits into some fun while looking after their teeth,’ the father of four said.

To do that, he has installed thousands of dollars worth of arcade games for children to play with in the waiting room, set up a reward system, a separate play area and a TV above the dentist chair.

The vision has taken Dr Stokic 18 months to create with the goal of becoming the most fun dentist in the world.

Dr Stokic said first thing was to encourage children to come to the dentist and look after their teeth and he also hoped to set up a charity and visit schools to help teach about preventative dentistry.

‘We are getting a mascot done up and do preventative treatment with the children to take the fear out of going to the dentist.’
